Electricity and Magnetism

Development of electromagnetic field equations and their relation to circuit models. Students will study electromagnetic phenomena leading to and using Maxwell’s equations. Topics will include electromagnetic wave propagation, static fields in vacuum and in dielectric media, application of the wave equation to engineering systems, electric and magnetic potentials, and the energy density of electromagnetic fields.
